Cape May, NJ is a great place to vacation with pets. While none of the beaches in Cape May city are dog friendly during the in-season, you may take your dog there in November, December, January, and February, provided your pet is on a leash and you clean up after your pet. During the off season (October through April), your dogs will enjoy a run on Higbee Beach in North Cape May, just a few minutes from any of these Cape May, NJ vacation rental properties. Higbee Beach is a state-owned Wildlife Management Area and has beautiful untamed dunes and wooded trails. Dogs are allowed from September through April.
During the summertime, enjoy walks with your dog on the beaches along the Delaware Bay, just minutes from historic Cape May, NJ and the Wildwoods. The Delaware Bay beaches are free to the public and are always dog friendly. Remember to clean up after your dogs. The beach here is narrower than the beaches in Cape May, and they're not as welcoming to swimmers. However, for pet lovers, they're perfect. Bring a chair, a leash, and your dog's favorite toy for fetch. If you'd like to stay near the Bay, look for properties in North Cape May, Townbank, and Lower Township.
