Located in the historic district on famous Columbia Avenue, this original
structure was built by contractor Richard C. Souder in the early 1870s for local
entrepreneur Peter McCullum. This cottage shows the basic McCullum formula prevalent in the period that
includes vergeboards, paired cornice brackets and a third story central gable. |

All rooms at the Majestic Star are fresh, comfortable and air conditioned. The first floor interior features bull pine flooring, a type of pine that is
now extinct, in the living room and dinning room and an eye catching 52 panel
coffer ceiling in the living room. The living and dining room areas, with central heat and air conditioning,
have plenty of space for relaxing and visiting. Our porch rockers are a perfect place to catch the ocean breezes.
Formerly a bed and breakfast inn, the
Majestic Star Central is like having your very own B&B. Most of the rooms have
private baths and the dining room has several tables - one for the kids, one for
the adults, one for the latecomers. The beach, by the way, is right down the
street. Or head a couple of blocks the other way to the Washington Street Mall
shopping area.
